Foster The People

Pumped Up Kicks  has been stuck in my head for sometime now. I love how Foster The People’s tunes are so catchy. I keep changing my mind on what song on the album I like most. As of 9.21.11 at 1pm it is Broken Jaw.

I got to spend a week photographing the guys  during the release week of Torches, their debut album. Getting to follow them around at Jimmy Kimmel, Amoeba in store and the music video for Helena Beat. Check out the below photo essay.

Denim Look Book

I recently shot a look book for a local denim company called Boom Boom Jeans. I love the challenge of working in fields that I usually don’t get to work in. The shoot was pretty straight forward apparel images needed for their catalog. A few of these I really liked, so I wanted to share a few.
By far, the most important thing about this job was working with my retoucher Ryan Cleary. Please check out his work here.

David Cook

David Cook was my 4th American Idol I have shot in the last year. He was really pleasant to work with and was great about letting us crash his studio. A funny thing he told me was that photographers can pull off wearing denim shirts, I need to remember to send him one.  Check out his interview done by the incredible Joelson’s here.

Melanie Fiona

Melanie was such a great hang. The minute she walked in she was exited and up for anything. I wish all the talent I get to shoot was as fun as Melanie. Her song, Give it to me right is badass and samples The Zombies. Check out her AOL performance here.

Talib Kweli and Hi-Tek: Reflections Eternal

A few weeks back I got to spend the day with these amazingly talented hip hop duo.  Before I went out with them I heard the song Midnight Hour and got super excited about working with them. AOL also had me produce a video of the day and I brought along the amazing Rebecca Joelson to help me shoot it. Here is the Day in the Life we shot here.

Shooter Jennings

This guy was so much fun to watch live. He was gracious with me and let me shoot him right after his set. His wife Drea de Matteo was kind enough to jump in for a few shoots. Really sweet couple.
